HP's "Burton For Your Business"

Just came across this ad. 10 years ago, who would have known snowboarding was going to be this big.

"Snowboarding is more than a business for Jake Burton. It's a way of life. And he's turned that passion into a thriving company that utterly dominates a $2.4 billion industry"

oooookay

yep. lots of 'progress' for snowboarding indeed.

next up: powdercat retirement villages

Yeah, this has been out for about six months.

Who uses PCs anyways? Apple all the way.

Fight for the little guy - Read SNOWBOARD Magazine!

word, macs are the shit

you really havent seen this yet? its been on tv for a while.

im not sure how i feel about it, cause on the one hand its good to see snowboarding protrayed as more than just the typical "bro-brah" shenanigans, but at the same time, its just another giant corp using snowboarding to make some green

food for thought

i could honestly care less, one way or the other... but what if it happened the other way around? what if jake woke up one morning, picked up his motorola in his volvo and was like, "hey, i've got a bi-coastal office full of all this HP crap. i'm the biggest snowboard company in the f*king world, how about you guys upgrade me... for free... and put me and the red head kid on tv?"

eh...probably not how it happened at all, but what if?

Haven't flipped on the TV in a while, but...

It's impressive that our little industry, albeit a $2.4 billion industry is something that HP would want to tap into. Maybe they're using Burton's name to get into the eyes of snowboarders...reverse psychology marketing? Hmmmmmm?

agreed

Ya you gotta give Jake props for his success but HP is just getting paid. I think they have similar commercials about other industries.

yup

yea i think theres the music and clothing industry represented by a Jay- Z commercial as well as a gwen stefani HP spot... Sienfeld has one promoting his new Bee movie... and Serena Williams has one promoting her clothing line and tennis accomplishments... not to mention jake and shawn... now we need there to be a rob and big black hp spot... they havent gone everywhere yet...
