“I first met Luko this summer up at Windells snowboard camp. Unfortunately for myself, I had a blown knee, so I didn’t see him ride in person, but his shots kept popping up in the Windells sessions videos and I was tripping. He is a really talented, and humble guy, and loves to shred. If he works hard, and really goes for it, you should be seeing him everywhere in the future.”

Lukas, you're living in Bend, but you're not actually from the states? Tell me about where you're from, how you ended up in Bend, and where snowboarding started for you.
I was born in Lima, Peru and lived there till I was 13. Life there was super fun. I grew up surfing and skating. I moved to the States on September 11th, the day of the terrorist attacks. I got stuck in Texas for 2 weeks because the airports were closed. When I got to Bend the season at Mt.Bachelor was about to get started in the next couple of months. I got a season pass and I've been snowboarding ever since.
So you have held down some pretty impressive video parts in the last few years with NC productions, how did this all happen?
I started filming with NCproductions a couple of years ago in the beginning of spring. At the time they were working on their new film "Time for Change". My friends Skylar and B-Bach convinced the owners to let me come out to film for at least one trip. After a lot of convincing, my homies finally got NC to take me with them. It was the middle of March and the season was nearly over with. Most riders had finished filming their parts for the movie already so I knew I had to get a lot done in a short amount of time. We headed down to Tahoe to hit some rails and things went well. I've been with the crew ever since. I owe it all to my good friends!
What are your thoughts on filming with Sam and Leeland A.K.A. LROY and the NC crew?
It really couldn't get much better. We have a unique thing because we are all such tight friends. We all ride together, party together, and sometimes we have to share hotel beds...hahaha. Sam and LRoy are pretty much the coolest filmers anyone could ask for. They are super talented but they don't let industry bullshit get to their heads. They make movies because they love snowboarding, and that's it.

Who are some of the riders you shred with?
I shred a lot with Kyle Martin, Carson Schubert, Asa Martinez, Robbie J. Walker, Adi Velic, Skylar Thornton, Martin Ciszek, Aaron Breitenbach, Chip Butts, Jonny Malenga, Austin Hironachiiiiiiiii (sorry Austin I can't spell it), J-Lazz, Jesseeeee Anderson, Ross Weaver and the rest of the NC crew!!!!
When you were getting your start, who were you influences, and who did you look up to?
My biggest influences when I started shredding were Skylar Thornton and Justin Francis. I had just started snowboarding and watching them ride motivated me to get better. Justin and Skylar where ahead of their time. They were so fun to watch! Oh yeah I can't forget JP Walker... I look up to him for sure...
So just this last summer it seemed like you had a bit of sponsor
drama, but at the same time a few companies stepped up for you?
Sponsor drama is over with. I am stoked on the companies that support me today. I've been riding for M6 for a year now and I'm pumped on the support they are giving me. I recently started riding for K2 snowboards, Vans Boots, Nomis, Dakine, and Landing Headwear and so far things have been better than I could ask for.

You seem to have a pretty good thing going in contests, you have podium and taken some wins. What do you think of contests in general?
I think contests are fun as long as I'm listening to my Ipod and zoning out. I can't say I love the overly competitive vibe. People should relax and have a jam session!!! Nah, just kidding... Contests are alright and a great way to get out there. I'm planning on doing more contests than ever before this year.
What’s up with your name? Do people ever try to talk to you over the phone or threw emails and ask if your Luke Wilson the movie star?
I've had like 4 different last names so I haven't gotten that too much... He's not that funny either so it kind of sucks
What? Luke Wilson is amazing! So what’s shaping up for this winter?
Filming again for the new NC project, tons of contests, and lots of good times...
Where is your career headed in your eyes?
Hopefully Cancun or Russia or something....
Say your thank you's playboy.
Thanks Momma, Peter, Nikki, Leeroy, Samo, Kevin, Doran Laybourn, The Body, Randy Torcom, Andre, Simon, Sheryl, Travis, Alix, Skiersaa's Boarshop and all of my friends!!!!!
