At 10:00pm, the night before Big Boulder’s opening day, several riders lined-up simultaneously to claim their stakes on First Chair. After arguing all night, the ticket office opened at 7:30 and there was a full on sprint to the lift to determine who the official winners would be. Jim Duffy, Chris Ballie, Charles Cornetta, and Dustin Basti crossed the checkered flag first and earned themselves the full head-to-toe kit. Those that placed just outside the podium were rewarded the usual slew of promotional product, and an afternoon of snowboarding in the Poconos.

Weather seemed to have kept most away from the bar that night, but despite the mellow turnout, those that could make it (and were over the age of 21) basked in the glory of a free round on Special Blend.
