The Grand Finale of Special Blend's First Chair Last Call was appropriately settled at Summit-at-Snoqualmie, Washington. If you've seen the FCLC video, you'll surely recognize some of the features hanging out in the mini-park. In the midst of the jib zone sat the gigantic “Fader Nuggets” and the rasta SB Boxes – both props filmed on location. Not that the added aesthetic was needed to get kids more fired up for opening day, but it is kind of nice that first turns, free swag, and riding around a little piece of snowboard history made for a pretty epic opening – until the power went out on the hill. Don't think that stopped anyone from hiking, however.

After an afternoon of snowboarding and trudging uphill, it was time to hit the bar. You know the deal The Timberwolf was raided and many a belly was filled with the brew thanks to the Special Blend Crew.

That being said, it was a great kick-off to the year. If you missed the stops this season, be sure to check back in 2008. Here’s a recap of the events.
