Oakley Northstar 1

Unique Feature Captures Design Elements Created by Professional Team Riders, Eero Ettala and Heikki Sorsa.

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Jan. 21, 2008 – Recognized for delivering quality terrain parks and pipes that consistently rank among the top in the nation, Northstar™ Resort continues to progress the sport of snowboarding and innovate in its parks. The resort has teamed up with Snow Park Technologies (SPT) and Oakley to introduce a unique freestyle terrain feature designed by Northstar Resort and Oakley team riders, Eero Ettala and Heikki Sorsa. As a result of this collaboration, skiers and riders now have access to another unique feature they can jib when they visit Northstar Resort’s terrain parks.

Oakley’s new feature is located in the terrain park on Pinball, located off of the Vista Express chairlift. The multiple option feature contains a flat bar rail slide on the top, and sliding surface everywhere else on the feature. The unique shape offers an uphill rail with wall ride-type options on the sides, and includes dimensions that vary from two feet tall to six feet tall at the highest point. Oakley’s signature feature is 30 feet in length, with the rail measuring in at 25 feet.

The feature, containing unique graphics of Eero Ettala, was built by Snow Park Technologies, an industry leader in terrain park design and construction. SPT is known for designing and constructing courses for some of the most prestigious events in the industry, including Winter X Games, Burton US Open and Vans Tahoe Cup. The Oakley feature joins several other signature features in Northstar Resort’s parks including the Nike 6.0 Seagle Car, Matix triple option stair feature, and the DC Shoebox to name a few.

unique feature....?

i would hardly call this jib "unique" or say heikki or eero designed it. bear mtn has had the seth hout signature jib for a while now (just like this). no big deal tho, im all for them sharing good ideas. makes better parks for everyone.

.

if you watch after lame there is a huge one of these in it. but signature jibs are all the rage this year

this feature

if any of you remember back to the last super park in the canadian rockies there was a feature just like this but huge.

its hard to be original these days with this stuff, but that shouldn't matter, what matters is stoking out everyone on the hill.
