KINGVALE, Calif. (January, 22, 2008) – Last week, The Kingvale Terrain Project held its highly anticipated grand opening – with a rope tow fed park that features nightly grooming and unique, reclaimed jibs. According to Kingvale owner Day Franzen, “ This season we are running the iron man style. Every Sunday we build an entirely new park, then refine each weekday before transforming the park back to a tubing hill on Friday night.” Kingvale, a ghost resort from the 1970’s that was later transformed into a tubing hill is the only new resort to open in North America this season. It is also the only resort worldwide that is owned and operated exclusively by snowboarders. Progression is the word and Day and his crew of rider/owner/employees have a tradition of pushing the limits. In 2001, Day and his crew unleashed the now commonplace C-Box on the world – snowboard parks have not been the same since. According to Franzen, “In everything we do, we remain true to the heart of snowboarding progression. We are really excited about the new terrain possibilities that Kingvale will offer to riders of every ability.”

With 20-30 rail features at all times plus unique terrain features not found elsewhere in the snowboarding world, Kingvale has become a home for industry and media photo and video shoots. For $22 a day (the lowest ticket price anywhere) you can ride the same terrain that has graced the bases of many of the world’s top snowboarders. In addition, Kingvale is selling a limited number of season passes (60% sold out in the first week!) for $128.99.
