Checking out new board packages - got an opinion?

Hey, first post here. I'm looking for a new snowboard package for my girlfriend. She's about 5'6" and roughly 140 lbs. She wears a size 10 women's shoe. I've found a few package deals on eBay for board/boots/bindings around $300 shipped.

The brands involved are Avalanche, Lamar, and Dub. A couple of the packages offer Head boots but most of the them are the same brand throughout. I know none of these brands are top-of-the-line, but we're talking about an absolute, never-been-down-the-mountain beginning rider here. No telling whether or not she will actually like this sport. However, I'm willing to shell out a few hundred bucks for a decent setup that can be sold if need be.

So, out with your opinions! And please try and refrain from telling me to go out and buy a $600 Burton setup because "it's the best" or some crap like that. This is an entry-level purchase.

Thanks,
David

Rent her gear to see if she likes it firt.that's the best advice you will ever get.

Okay, besides rentals as well

Okay, besides rentals as well. She's pretty stoked about learning how to ride, but would like her own setup to avoid renting every time we go. Should have mentioned that in my first post, sorry.
