K2 Gyrator advice . . .

So i have been in the market for a new big stick for a while, and have the chance to pick up a 168 gyrator at half the retail price but ned to tell the dude if i want it by tomorrow . . .

Anyone ridden one, heard lots about the 162 most of it good and rating it above the banana tech that lib uses, but nothing about the 68.

Any advice appreciated . . .

Wait....

Seriously, who is rating it better than the banana.

i am. lib is cool, but their construction sucks ass.

the lib skates are breaking left and right.

slander and libel!!!

I dig it

I have a 68 gyrator and I've gotten about 10 days on it so far. So much fun in the deep stuff, and ridable on the groomers. The rocker causes it to have a shorter effective edge, pick it up, ride it with 6+ inches, and you'll be stoked.

... and next season they have more sizes-smaller options, also.

eff yeah

Go pick it up for sure!

I ride the 62 for my pow board, got 20 powder days on it this year and it's the most fun amazing board in powder. Even on groomers, it's still rideable and super buttery, only in hardpacked bumps is when it lacks. But man...yeah seriously awesome, just floats through the pow.

Get it.

The Gyrator is amazing. Rides similar to a fish, but you can ride it backwards. They have a smaller size (158) coming out next year, as well. Rode one the past few days, and it's tough to go back to anything else. It's easy, nimble and almost effortless to ride, even centered in the stance pack. You won't regret the purchase.

a 68 is huge, even for a big guy like me, get the 62 if you can, un;ess you really like going straight everywhere and are really good at managing a longer board in chopped up cruddy crap snow

Thanks to everyone for all the advice - looks like i will be picking it up, i know a 68 is a big stick by todays standards but i have a fish 56 and a Ranquet 59 as well, and since i got rid of my old Johan i have been looking for another big boy for my quiver. It will be put to good use in wide open pow steeps in the French/Swiss alps where you need a big gun if you really want to take advantage of the conditions, but i will definitely look to pick up a 62 in the end of season sales if i can

///™ you got rid of your johan?!

regret!

✠™ Forced into retirement . .

due to too many close encounters of the rock kind, now enjoying its old age in the snowboard retirement home that is my parents garage alongside a Morrow Goodwill 176 that rode me more than i rode it.

The dude just emailed to say he has a 162 as well so am going to pick up both for about $700 for the pair (they retail for £400/$750 each over here)

Sweet!

Dang that's awesome you get both...i'm super jealous! Have fun tearing it up!

is there a new engineering/design team at k2?

for the past couple of years it seems that their boards have been coming up in conversations a lot more. a buddy bought the believer and was so stoked on it, he wouldn't shut up about it. i rode it one day and i have to say that i was impressed by how well it rode. i had a lot of fun on that board. now i'm hearing how the gyrator is a great board. is there something i've missed?
