The U.S. Cellular Rail Jam went down in Bend Oregon on February the 9th hosted by filming extraordinaire Pete Alport and his trusty crew. These days rail jams are a dime a dozen but I must say that the set up these boys came up with was original and created a lot of stellar riding.

We showed up right before the contest started and the set up was insane. A 20 foot ride in bomb drop with three choices for your line was what these boys were facing. Judged by badass bend local Ross Weaver and his homies this spot was legit.

I brought along two of our Dakine AM’s, Johnnie Paxson, and Corey Noble, along with Northern Alliance’s Matt Guess, and Jon Montana. These riders are some of the most creative people I have worked with so when they saw this unique set up they knew it was going to be a good contest.

To say these boys dominated the field was an understatement. Besides bend local’s Ben Ferguson, and Justin Norman, it was the Paxson, Guess, and Noble show. Johnnie and Corey were getting wild on the wooden log with crazy hand plants, nodio flip things and other creative Travis Rice style trickery. Just Norman was plain and simple showing bend why he is on the Radar with his extremely smooth style, and Ben Ferguson was rode with some serious skills.

In the end it was Johnnie Paxson’s dominating log hand plant’s that took the cake and he cruised back to Mt. Hood with 1100 bucks in his pocket.

All and all I’m giving the U.S. Cellular rail jam a serious thumbs up and hope to be there next year. You will be able to witness all the goods soon on snowvision.com
