The 9th stop of the 2007/08 Peanut Butter and Rail Jam tour went down at the Summit at Snoqualmie on Saturday, February 16th, 2008.
Our annual visits to the resort have always been a good time so we were more then anxious to see what this year would hold. Notable heads Jesse Burtner, Sean Genovese and Danny Koriath were in the mix again and would be putting on their judging caps. As has been the case in year’s past, the Summit’s Krush Kulesza and his henchmen went above and beyond to create an A-Plus PBRJ contest area. After the extra lights were set up and the three features dropped in, it was clear we were in for a hell of a night!
The 15 & Under division got the nod to kick things off around 4pm with some technical trickery not often seen by this group of shreds. Jacob Krugmire blew out of the gates with Corey Schneider and Matt Gencarella hot on his heels. One of the features was a menacing step-up box (“reverse shark fin”) and resulted in a few close calls. When the finals wrapped up, it was Corey Schneider taking 1st, Matt Gencarella claiming 2nd and Jacob Krugmire squeaking into 3rd!

The 16 & Over Division was up next and were on a mission of rail destruction! It didn’t take long for all three PBRJ features (reverse shark fin, up-box to propane tank, 32 ft. double-barreled down rail) to be completely destroyed! If we’re talking about notable tricks, we’re talking about nollie nose-press to back tails, switch 50-50 to b/s 360 outs and more then a few back lips. After the scores were totaled, it was Gared Schneider taking home 1st, Trevor Schy 2nd and Taylor Pfaff 3rd!

After some PB&J carnage, it was the Girl’s turn to show us how it’s done in the bigs. They wasted no time and got right to work! By this time the large overhead lights were in full effect and making the scene look like a snowboarding “Field of Dreams” or something. Groovy. Despite a few close calls on the reverse shark fin, the ladies rode super hard and gave the judges something to think about. It was insanely close, but at the end of the day it was Randa Shahin taking 1st, Andrea Mills 2nd and Erika Burgess a close 3rd!

The Open Division followed up the ladies and put on a hell of a show for everyone in attendance! Hammers were being thrown down just a few seconds after the first heat began! In just 20 minutes, we saw more ripping then most would in a week! Switch 180 to front board on the reverse shark fin, f/s 270 front board to f/s 270 out on the up-box to propane tank and a nollie back lip 270 out on the down rail were just a few of the heavies that were witnessed! See the final results below!

Thanks to Krush Kulesza, Geoff, Taylor Shaffer and everyone one else at the Summit at Snoqualmie for all their hard work and PBRJ dedication! These guys put together one of the tightest PBRJ contest sites we’ve ever seen and we really appreciate it. Thanks also to our celebrity guest judges Jesse Burtner, Sean Genovese and Danny Koriath as well as Celtek Gloves and Vestal watches for kicking in extra prizes.
