I ride a 152 banana. For some reason, Im the only dude in the park who cant butter that well. Whats the secret? im not convinced my stance is that great. im 5'7 150, ride regular 22inch stance, 15front, -6back. Am i not set up wide enough? what is the deal? Also feel super akward landing goofy backside? Are these problems stance related, lean related? any worthwile advice on the set up?
...
its most likely not the setup... if you are comfortable with it, then keep it the way it is. try shifting your weight differently when pressing, more centered over the point on your board. also, your boot/binding interface might be a little sloppy, and that can make butters harder. try it on flat ground doing little spins and things to be comfortable. thats all i got.
thanks
i will try that at the holy oly this weekend. peace
Flat ground first...
then work up to curbs on the sides of groomers, and apply what learned to the boxes. You just need more training. It's not the board as some of us were buttering on the most boney of boards in the late 80's.
Butter.

I hope you mean practising because training is for jocks
Something's definitely amiss
Something's definitely amiss if a 150lb dude cannot butter a 152 Banana. Definitely practice on mellow, even slopes first. Be sure that you are shifting your hips over the nose/tail of your board, not simply leaning over.
By the way, are you having trouble picking your nose/tail off the ground, or are you having trouble keeping your balance?
the balance isnt the problem
the balance isnt the problem ( i dont think). I see dudes spinning in circles on 1 foot on mellow or flat slposes and i cant seem to do it. i can ride a lil wheely but thats the extent of it. all i want to do is lil ground tricks wit some style. its pretty frustrating. im in good shape and pretty muscular so i cant really figure out the issue, it must be something stupid in my form.
Yeah, just remember to shift
Yeah, just remember to shift those hips over the tail/nose of the board. Do that, and if it doesn't help. Find the sweet spot by 'working backwards'. If you've got soft conditions, shift enough to fall over. Then, shift your weight a bit, less. Hopefully you don't have to repeat it too often, but eventually you'll find that sweet spot.
I still think the hips shifting is most key though. It was for me, at least.
balls
well i started out just doin 50-50s and boardslides. and i was like fuck it..ima just go for it.lol. like before u get on the box, make sure yr winding up enough cuz if not yr not going to butter fully lol so yeah now i do 360s on that thing lol
are you white or black?
my black friend cant butter either.... i think its cause he is black so if your black that might be why you cant butter - just a thought that im throwin out there, think about it
SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY!!!!
im white, and either way, tha
im white, and either way, thats retarded. but thanks,
