Dear Pow-Hounds,
A little about myself, I have just subscribed to snowboard magazines website, but have been reading the mag off and on for years. I just recently moved to Steamboat Springs Colorado, to peruse my Construction career, which really means, to tear up the mountain every weekend! I have been riding since I was about 14. In all of my years of riding I have noticed a problem and was wondering if anyone else felt the same way I did. Whelp without further adieu, here is my problem and my solution. Please let me know what you think.
I have an Idea for a snowboarding product and would like any feedback.
Problem: When riding the chairlift at all ski resorts anyone who is snowboarding is required to unstrap one foot. While on the chairlift the snowboard is resting on one foot while the other foot must remain unstrapped, causing pain and discomfort. I realize that a lot of the chairs now have drop down bars that you could rest the board on, but there are still a majority that do not have the bars.
Solution: The solution to this problem is a widget I have thought up. This widget can be attached to the laces of the unstrapped boot. This widget will allow the rider to rest the edge of their snowboard onto their free foot, in turn relieving the unnecessary pain and discomfort.
Widget description: The widget will be made of a plastic material with four lace holes on the four corners. In the middle will be a raises square head coated with a non-slip surface (ie. the rubberized material you would put in a drawer to keep things from slipping). on the back end there will be a groove that the snowboard edge will fit in, this will keep the rider from cutting open their laces.
