Liptricks Not Lipstick...good idea!!!
Everyone put away their lipstick and whipped out some liptricks for Echo Mountain’s second birthday this past weekend. A big, blue sky and a hot, hot sun made this birthday one to remember. There were pretzels and hand plants, one-footers and switch-ups and enough spinning on and off of everything to make the judges dizzy.

The course was divided into two sections, having the skiers and snowboarders switch sides after their allowed session time. Skiers left consisted of two urban down rails, a gap to flat-down box (all surrounded by a lovely set of snow stairs) and the infamous fan box feature. Skiers right consisted of a log jib at the top, an option of either a picnic table or the Rome Jersey barrier which lead to a hefty semi-truck tire and an upright picnic table.

The competition really got heated after the competitors started hiking. It was a jam format and constant race to get the best trick. Judges scored each rider based on their individual runs, i.e. how well they linked tricks together, style, creativity, etc.
The winners of the “great” division went to skier Pat Goodnough and snowboarder Lakota Sage, both competing at a consistent pace with style, creativity, and technicality. Pat threw a misty 5 over the stair set and Lakota busted out a hard way 270 on to 270 out of the double-barrel down rail.
Thanks to Qdoba and Jockey for the free burritos and long underwear (amazing). And thanks to all the competitors and spectators for coming out on a beautiful day to help us celebrate our second birthday at Liptricks Not Lipstick.
