Splitboarding on Buffalo Pass

Spent the day at Buffalo Pass here in Northwest Colorado outside Steamboat with the splitboards to earn our turns. Gary and I skinned our way up the ridge before dropping in to the powder.

Powder Turns

We found an awesome area with no lines through it and perfect opportunity for us both to make some more wide open turns.

Riding the aspens

I was riding Gary's spare 166cm splitboard for the day and my first experience with skinning, splitboarding and backcountry riding.

The best thing to take with you on your backcountry riding...your dog!

suffering sled

I went splitboarding a few weeks ago to the Bradley Hut, really good riding there! I dragged up a jet sled with a 100 pound load and had some great suffering, It was intense since I'm only a 145 pound man.

Yeah, splitboarding is the shit - But I think the boards could be more tech. Time will tell.

Butter.

Nice!

Yeah my friends have done hut trips and one of them is talking about doing a hut trip eventually. Definitely be fun to do. Gotta get my own splitboard eventually if I plan to do more BC. Be interesting to see a rocker splitboard come out.
