There is driven snow and then there is TOTALLY driven snow. Then there’s snow just begging for a ride.
When the news broke that Taos Ski Valley was going to drop the ban on snowboarding Wednesday March 19 and embrace change, it was news heard around the world. In fact, it’s is still reverberating.
The Taos News plans to be at TSV to document this historic ride into the future with a special Web and multi-media edition dedicated exclusively to Free Taos.
Coverage will include:
* Tuesday evening the first parties begin and The Taos News will be there to capture the anticipation.
* Video of the first borders on the mountain along with the exhilaration of the shredders coming off the steeps and all the excitement in between.
* Special sideshow presentations of special events.
* Exclusive interviews and reports from the lifts to the management offices at TSV.
* The last exhausted and happy snowboarder off the mountain on Wednesday night
The Taos News will have this historic day covered inside and out.
“The time is right for skiers and riders to share the slopes here at Taos Ski Valley,” Adriana Blake said. She’s Ernie Blake’s granddaughter and Taos Ski Valley marketing manager. “At the end of the day, it’s not important how our visitors get down the mountain, as long as we can all enjoy this special place.”
“The festivities will be a show of appreciation to our loyal visitors and a warm welcome to our new guests,” Alejandro Blake said. He’s the Taos Ski Valley events director. “The week of exciting events will be a great way to kick off this new era at Taos Ski Valley.”
Join us Tuesday night for beginning coverage of this historic day. The link will be posted at that time.
