Spring Splash Presented by Mountain Spirit Resort and Spa

Kimberley, BC – March 26, 2008 – Kimberley Alpine Resort will celebrate spring with the annual Spring Splash, presented by Mountain Spirit Resort and Spa, taking place on March 29th and 30th. A favourite event for both visitors and locals, this year’s Spring Splash will celebrate another great ski season at Kimberley Alpine Resort.

Activities for both days will include live music in the resort plaza by Shane Philip and Billy Jive and the Funktastic Five, Kokanee Beer Gardens, Outdoor BBQ and more.

On Saturday, March 29th, a highlight of the afternoon will be the “Lewzer Launch” Dummy Downhill. Businesses, friends, individuals and families are encouraged to create and register a “Dummy” that will be launched down the hill. Registration is $10 per entry.

Saturday’s Event Schedule is as follows:

Saturday, March 29th

11:00am – 3:00pm: Registration for the “Lewzer Launch” Ultimate Dummy Downhill (Base of North Star Express)

2:30pm: Live music in the resort plaza featuring Shane Philip, the One-Man Band, and Billy Jive & The Funktastic Five

3:00pm: Judging and Inspection of Dummies

4:15pm: The Ultimate Dummy Downhill

Sunday’s activities will feature the Splash-A-Mania Splash pool, and the Downhill Derby Bike Race, which will officially wrap up the 2007/2008 ski season. Registration for Splash-A-Mania is free, and registration for the Bike Race is $15 for licensed BC cycling members, and $25 or $45 for insured or uninsured non-members.

2:30 PM: Live outdoor music in the resort plaza featuring Shane Philip, the One-Man Band, and Billy Jive & the Funktastic Five

4:00 PM: Splash-A-Mania Awards in Resort Plaza

4:00 PM: Downhill Derby Racers load North Star Quad Chair

4:45 PM: Start of Downhill Derby Bike Race

5:30 PM: Downhill Derby Bike Race Awards in Resort Plaza

Kimberley Alpine Resort passholders are reminded that they are able to ski at other RCR Resorts after season end, as part of the RCR Membership Benefits program. Kimberley Alpine Resort will finish its 2007/08 winter season on March 30, 2008.
