Size 13 foot. 156 board way too small? Help me out

I am 6'1" 180lbs and wear a size 13 boot and have only snowboarded once. I found a really nice board at a pawnshop near my house. It is a Ride 156 board(in good shape) with a pair of large bindings(in good shape) and a board bag. All of that for only 99$ I will probably only use it once-twice a year since i live in North Carolina and we dont get alot of snow. Is that board just way too small for me even if i only use it a couple times a year? I also know of a 159 ride board. Would 3 cm make that big of a difference? Any input would be awesome.
Thanks

Thanks Tightpantswidestance. You have been alot of help man. i appreciate it.

okay

all board sizing refers to overall length, and its always in centimeters, 156cm, 159cm in your situation. width/waist refers to the middle/narrowest part of the board. for size thirteens your probably gonna want the waist width to be 26cm or more, most normal mens boards range from roughly 24.5cm up to about 27cm, in your case the wider the better. the more your toes/heels hangover the more chance you have of draging you toes when you turn, when they drag you'll probably go down. anyone can probably ride any board, but the better it fits you the more fun you'll have.

.

if your toes/heels hang way over in shoes, it will be quite a bit worse in boots.

need sum more help

Thanks for the posts guys, but i thought that the "waist" of the board was what the 156 stood for because when i measured it it came out to be 156cm so i am confused on how 156cm has to do with the length. as you can see i dont know jack shit about snowboarding but i am trying to get just a starter board ya know? About how wide should the waist be and how is it measured? cm does stand for centimeters correct?
Again thanks for your help

short....

on piste and in the park the length is not really the issue, I'm an inch taller and about 92kg's (not sure on the conversion)and a 156 is fine, however the size 13 boats on your feet could hinder, , the only way your going to get a way with that board is if your boots are really low profile and even that is going to be close, you really need a wide or mid-wide stick

with a size thirteen, width is more of an issue than lenght, the less toe /heel hangover the better, but if your only going to ride once a season it really doesn't matter to much. i would say a 159 would would fit you better than a 156. im 6'2 185 and ride boards anywhere from 159 to 164.
