MURS and Black Pegasus to Play Sunsation Sessions
Copper Mountain, CO…April 10, 2008…George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic and Matisyahu headline the free daytime shows at Copper April 12-13. Also, set to play for free are Band of Heathens, Perpetual Groove, Trevor Hall and Lotus. The Sunsation Sessions, hosted in intimate settings, continue on Saturday, April 12 with MURS and Black Pegasus.

George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic is set to play a free show during Sunsation on Saturday, April 12. George Clinton is one of the most important innovators of funk music. The band is a Funk music collective headed by George Clinton that specializes in the style of music known as P-Funk. Recording under myriad names, this group had thirteen Top 10 hits in the U.S. R&B music charts between 1967 and 1983, including six number one hits. In May, 1997, George Clinton and 14 other members of P-Funk were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Matisyahu will bring his uncanny, electrifying fusion of Orthodox Judaism and classic reggae to the Sunsation masses for a free show on April 13. Via adventures in Colorado,Israel, Oregon and New York City he not only heard a profound spiritual calling, but also discerned a revolutionary way to share his discoveries and reflections through the reggae and hip-hop sounds that had long been an integral part of his day-to-day soundtrack.
Sunsation Sessions’ performances are ticketed events in the Bighorn Room of the Copper Conference Center. MURS is a West Coast underground rapper, who describes his music as sitcom rap – taking elements from everyday life and making them entertaining. This Los Angeles rapper’s platform consists of peace, love, unity and having fun. MURS has an old-school flow that recalls Ice Cube and unlike many in underground rap, he's not only got a clever delivery, but a lot to say.
Black Pegasus is a Hip-Hop artist that is known for his controversial DJ battles. He is the most successful solo artist out of the Denver Metro region. With a foundation in Colorado Springs he has hand-crafted a dedicated following of thousands over the past years by performing and battling in the Midwest and Southwest. Black Pegasus’ unique style and passion for writing heart felt music has made him a trend setting pioneer in his region.
