MAMMOTH, CALIF. (April 28, 2008)—Bonfire’s Rookie Team rider Sawyer Deen jibbed his way to first place and $3500, in the 15 and under category at the Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Championships in Mammoth.
“I’m not even old enough to cash the check myself,” said Sawyer.
The course consisted of a 30 foot down tower, a 6 foot high flat rail and an enormous up flat down flat down box. It was the finest that the Mammoth Park Crew had to offer and the kid knows how to shred.
Sawyer Deen won his sponsorship with Bonfire through their annual Pipe to Pipe Rookie Challenge at Windell’s Snowboard Camp last summer. This summer’s event is tentatively scheduled for July 12.
