The third and final Sunset Showdown of the inaugural season of Kingvale Terrain Project was another great success with a bunch of kids coming out to shred the sick park to earn some cash and maybe even a new board or two. This week Shawn Durst decided to have a high ollie contest that kinda turned into a hippie hop contest which turned out to be so much fun as everyone was taking a stab at the high bar. A bunch of folks came out like Jimi Tomer, Lane Knaack, Shawn Durst, Ben Rice, June B., and even Nico Droz was in town for a few days filming on some ridiculously sick log drops and cliffs higher up on the hill.

Ben Rice nose press.

Pat Lee on the sketchy snow scooter.

Pat Lee going down on the snow scooter. I rode that thing today too... it was gnarly but fun.

Taylor Bacci killing the box gap setup.

Taylor won the first Sunset Showdown a couple weeks ago. She's got skills and she's only 18.

Brian “Freebird” Kanoi handling the high ollie with ease.

Big Steve pressing it out on the flat box.

Brittney Straw getting ill on the box gap.

Brittney Straw front board on the flat box.

Skye Gale was absolutely murdering the park. I didn't get too many shots because I was having too much fun with the hippie hop, but he was absolutely killing it. KILLING IT!!!! as Hashy Terry would say.

Skye Gale switch front board... KILLING IT!!!!

Day and Hashy giving second place a pair of Flux bindings. I ride Flux...I love 'em.

Skye elected to take the 100 bucks and the Doo-Zee original 40 oz cooler... big ups to Kaleb.

Pat Lee, Day Franzen, Hashy Terry, with mens winner Skye Gale, Shorty won a board, and Brittney Straw won for the girls this week.

Freebird with the winning prize of $53.71. You can see how stoked he and Flavor Dave are. Flavor got a board too.
I want to thank everyone for coming out to Kingvale this year. Next year is going to be even more retarded sick. They got plans for big things this summer and will be the premiere park in Tahoe to shred next season. Til then, we'll see you around. We got some photo shoots to do at Kingvale. It's like a whole new mountain once you get to the upper section. This place has huge potential and the right group of real snowboarders that are gonna take 'em there. Keep an eye on Kingvale. Season passes for 120-130 dollars...so sick. See you here, if not we'll see you next year. We're still open for another 2 weeks.
Big Thanks to 5150 snowboards, Ride snowboards, Kingvale Terrain Project, SNOWBOARD Mag, Sound outerwear, Flux bindings, Scurvy Bastards Sales and Marketing, Sickels, Day, Jay, Durst, and all the boys out there... y'all kill it.
