Winter Has Begun at Mt Hutt

Mt Hutt received approximately 10cm of snow across all trails on Sunday evening (11 May), serving as a timely reminder that the start of the snow sports season is just one month away.

Mt Hutt Assistant Ski Area Manager James McKenzie said the snow would help cool the ground temperature considerably.

“The forecast for the next week is for continued low temperatures which means the snow is likely to stick around for some time, providing a good base for when our snowmaking operations start in about two weeks time.”

Mr McKenzie said new developments at Mt Hutt this year, including the new beginner and intermediate terrain park (pictured), would appeal to riders and skiers of all ability levels.
