Sunday May 18th, 2008 - A forecasted pool of very cold air followed yesterday's snowfall at Falls Creek Alpine Resort. Another 15cm overnight has brought the depth to 25cm around the village.

Temperatures dipped to -3.4C and it will be unlikely to get above zero until midday.

An early blanket of snow has bolstered the predictions of a very snowy winter season. The resort's ski lodges and apartments are confidently predicting frosty weather for the coming week and a good start to the 2008 season.

With only three weeks to the official opening of the winter the 'snow grapevine' has gone into overdrive with an anticipation of a very snowy start to winter at alpine resorts such as Falls Creek.
