The town of Glenwood Springs, CO has created what is soon to be the River Surfing meca of the US. Today James and I went River Surfing.

The scene on the Colorado River, 5 surfers showed up

Surfing within view of the town

Local surfer, Riverboard shaper and super nice guy, Mark taking long 3-4 minute rides

Vail Local Ken Hoeve, he has this place dialed.

Im about to drop in, 3/2 inch wetsuit, PFD ( Personal Floation Device ), Helmet, Board and Booties.. Its about to get cold. This is the snowmelt runoff!

Hiting the water.

River surfing in Colorado, I caught 4 waves and after that my hands where numb so I called it a day. The river has alot of potential. I cant wait to go back this week when the water lives rise once again to peak levels!! As soon as we get up to 20,000 CFS this wave will hit about 7-8 feet. Rumor has it Big Sur has already broke once and this 10 year wave will br breaking around June 2nd!!
