Six Lifts In Operation At Mt Buller

05/07/2008 - Natural snowfalls and consistent favourable snowmaking conditions this week means Mt Buller guests will now be riding more chairlifts and carving up more terrain.

Snowmakers have been working hard over the past four nights covering the resort’s most popular skiable areas allowing a further three lifts to operate at Mt Buller today!

For the first time this season the Summit Chairlift and Koffler’s T-Bar will commence operation, opening up intermediate terrain for skiers and boarders. The Horsehill Chairlift will also operate for sightseers, allowing access to the fun-filled adventure Snowtubing Park.

Mt Buller has invested an additional $300,000 in automated snowmaking guns this season and snowmaking capacity has been increased by 30 per cent, thanks to a world-first Waste Water Reuse and Conservation Project.

“It’s fantastic to be able to open up more of Mt Buller’s challenging terrain for our guests, and in time for the second week of school holidays,” said Laurie Blampied, General Manager of Buller Ski Lifts.

“Our snowmaking team have again committed to providing our guests with the best possible mountain experience and made the most of the favorable conditions from the last few days, to cover as much terrain as possible.”

School holidays is the perfect time to visit Mt Buller, with the Ski & Snowboard School in full operation, offering kids programs for children aged three months to fourteen years.

Lift passes are $94 for adults and $50 for kids – right up to year 12.

The toboggan park in the Village is also open for snowplay and tobogganing.

BULLSHIT

im sorry for the abusive language, but im sick of resorts talking absolute crap about mountain status. Most people here will not understand as this hill is in australia. We went up to mt buller on saturday and were pumped for the 6 lifts being open. 6 lifts you say. so that counts when 2 are access lifts and dont open up any new terrain and one is a fucking carpet.

Of course we had fun and would have ridden if there was one lift, but the conditions were so marginal and it was more like an olympic ice rink than a snow mountain, if it wasnt school holidays it would not have been open. it just come down to greed when they charge 94 bucks a ticket.

thats my rant........
