On June 26th, 2008 a small but select group of riders were invited up to Eclipse Snow Park for the best summer snowboarding Colorado has to offer. Tony Distrola went out of his way this year to make two incredible features amidst 70-degree weather and summer clawing its way into the minds of avid shred fans. This is the second year in a row Eclipse has done a small invite-only summer shoot, which is amazing considering Eclipse currently makes no snow during the winter. The snow is left over from a good winter; it even looks like there is enough to keep riding for weeks to come.
Eclipse had a smooth 50 ft step down jump on the steepest face on the mountain. Rob Bak, Ryan Thompson, Seth Hill and Scott Kees all showed up amped to dust off some old tricks. Tony did an incredible job with the jump, especially considering what he was working with… it was like a snow oasis between the rock bands on this steep sun beat slope. The landing was insanely steep if you cleared the knuckle… or if you decided to do an impression of a helicopter trying to land on its side like Ryan T did. After sessioning the jump for several hours, the riders decided to muster up their last ounces of energy to give the Eclipse signature barrels a shot. These barrels are super fun and forgiving; everyone had a blast. Again, Eclipse did a great job fulfilling the summer itch to shred for these guys. Check out the video and the pics for proof.

Eclipse Snow Park is located in St Marys, Colorado, less than 45 minutes outside of Denver. While they aren’t operational yet, they have delayed opening to make sure everything they do, they do it right. Ask anyone who has been up there, and they will tell you that Eclipse builds everything right. Everyone involved is down to earth, knows what’s up, and is excited about what they are doing.

is this eclipse snow park ever going to open? or at least give everyone an update on what's going on?
