Against Me!
Hailing from Gainesville, Florida, Against Me! is frontman Tom Gabel, guitarist James Bowman, bassist Andrew Seward, and drummer Warren Oakes. Their fourth studio album, "New Wave," was produced by Butch Vig and released by Sire Records on July 10, 2007. It quickly became one of most critically acclaimed albums of the year, with Spin Magazine declaring it the “Best Album of 2007.” Known for Gabel's politically charged lyrics, roaring vocals, and fist-to-authority ethos, each Against Me! live show is an incendiary experience. In the past year Against Me! has completed two headlining tours as well as tours with Mastodon, Foo Fighters and Serj Tankian. This summer Against Me! is headlining the 2008 Vans Warped Tour.
Vans Warped Tour
Kevin Lyman is the creator and founder of Warped Tour. Launched in 1994, Warped Tour is a touring music and extreme sports festival. The tour started out as a showcase for punk rock music, but has since expanded its musical diversity and has recently featured more alternative rock, emo, post-hardcore and Christian rock bands in their line-ups. In 1998, the tour went international, including venues in Australia, Japan, Europe and Canada. Since 1995, skateboarding/BMX shoe manufacturer Vans has sponsored the tour, among others. As well as music, the Vans Warped Tour brings many attractions, including a halfpipe for skaters and bikers and many booths that sell merchandise and promote independent record labels, non-profit organizations and magazine publishers.
