this was such heavy news to hear. fuckin loved this kid.. nothing but love for people but quick to speak his mind nonetheless... just like the rest of his brothers.

for those that dont know... when V was born, their mom allowed kurt, jeff and andy
the job of naming him... they taught Van everything.. skating, values, backflips in the front yard... you name it. he ended up being the perfect combination of all of them, in fact.
Van just recently turned pro for Krooked and received his first pro model.. in fact, as far as i know it should be hitting shops very soon.. pick one up.
ridiculous skills, just like the rest of his brothers. tragic he was only able to spend 24yrs with everyone.

RIP.

i guess we'll all be seeing each other soon.. wish it was for better circumstances.

as a parent i cant even imagine...

are with the Wastell family through this tragedy. I went through hell when I lost my mom to a brian tumor in 03. The only thing you can do is think of the good times with Van, and what he stood for. There is a silver lining to even the darkest cloud. This little poem helps me cope when someone dear passes on;

Every now and then, take a second, breathe deeply, and think of me. Smile, and know that I'm always with you.

My deepest condolences to the Wastell family.

Totally devastating news that just leaves me numb. I'm so disppointed for Van as he was just coming into his own, not only as a skater but as a person. Those that knew him will remember a very chill guy with his own very cool vibe. Condolences to everyone, Andy, Jeff & family, Kurt & family, Julie, Eddie, everybody close to the man. I'm so sorry...
