Bamboo eh?

Both the Mystic and the Stance are designed with a bamboo-reinforced core. Bamboo has a higher tensile strength than steel, yet is also light and flexible and has forty times the effective life of carbon fiber. With the bamboo strut running through the center of the board, overall board life, performance and durability are all dramatically increased. The bamboo strut is part of what gives the Mystic its pop and lively feel. Bamboo is also environmentally friendly, growing 30% faster than the fastest growing tree.

Keep an eye out at SIA for the introduction of a new bamboo technology in two more boards Smiling

Arbor Stance

Just put a 149 on lay-a-way. I love the Technology and it has a lot of pop, also a good jib board.

bamboo

remember BC stream or Bamboo curtan???

they had bamboo boards. really really stiff!

i like how Arbor cuts koa wood from hawaii and puts it in boards.

if your looking for a sick bo

if your looking for a sick board, the Mystic is quite fine. Its the only board in the line with bamboo, got a Good Wood last year. Very fun, kinda narrow, but quick edge to edge, snappy

Hello, I own an Arbor bamboo-

Hello, I own an Arbor bamboo-powered board, a Crossbow one but I haven't yet got the possibility to ride it this season. Sad

There is also another small norvegian brand called Bataleon which is also integrating bamboo in their models. This brand has also designed an original "3D shaped" snowboard, have a look on the board and their website:

I have never heard of Bataleon before

Are they a Swedish company? Boards looks pretty cool though.
Looks like a brand similar to Academy here in the states.

bataleon

They are from Norway. I just spotted in their news page that they are currently on a demo tour in the western part of USA. You can have a look on their boards if you you are living near one of the resorts they are visiting.

I just went quickly through Academy website, are they big? or they are also relatively small and trying grow up producing quality boards?

Academy is a smaller co.

Academy is a smaller company. Also I got to see a Bataleon in person as Brent Meyer was riding one. Crazy convex tip design.

Bataleon

Mark, did you get any word on how the Bataleon rode, judging from their website its a pretty crazy design.

Brett meyer is riding a bataleon

I was just in Breck and Brett Meyer was riding a Bataleon. Looked pretty cool. It has a crazy convex in the tip (ie not flat base, base high)
