i like to stick with the same brands. but reality makes me purchase what ever is on sale. its too much to buy items full price. right now is the time to buy new stuff, it might be a season old. but the enternal question. . . have the newset and coolest and not ride as much, or actually the last season newest and coolest! i would rather ride!!
I try to support brands that invest back into the sport and have good people behind them, unfortunately I surcome to sales more often than I'd like to admit.
I always stick with Option Snowboards, but I switch it around each year for bindings and boots. I usually get a good price on the current year's board and get boots for cheap and then get bindings for full price and get my outerwear for a discounted price.
for a couple of years. Same goes for booots but usually I get a new board- used to ride Burton, but this year I rode a Ride and am thinking of checking out some other stuff for next year.
I stared out riding burton stuff because my uncle (who taught me how to shred) swore by them.
I'm divided on the company. The whole emphasis on fashion / trying to turn into a household name isn't really my cup of tea. Obviously they are still focused on tech development (albeit the vapor is a step in a direction that is somewhat unnecessary) and general dedecation to shredding, but I question how long that will last with Jake out of the driver's seat.
I can't really pinpoint a specific event that would make me drop the brand completely (short of the infamous nike rumor). For now, I stick with burton stuff because i've been taken care of pretty well by a few people there (without paying the dues that a lot of people have) and i'm greatful for it. Plus I know it's what my uncle would have wanted. Someday that may change though.
I usually use the same bindings/brand for years, switching out parts, etc. Board- I always rock a compatriot, and boots- always switching boots. I have picky feet, and no perfect boots out there yet it seems.
