Park what? Jibbing and huh?

I think maybe a t p is confused... The best board for park riding? Is there actually some technological advance that makes a board better for riding park? A board designed to be better than others at both jibbing AND jumping? sliding real slow up to a non-snow feature and grinding harshly against it while turning opposite to the natural direction of travel across snow? A board made contrary to what a truly performance snowboard should be in order to provide more confidence on metal and plastic? I think it's called the Urban Dweller, or the Street Dweller... Can that same board be made superior for jumping? Sorry, no. I think the real question here is whether or not there is a new board designed to be performance but forgiving, responsive but not unyielding, light but durable, fast but soft and fun all at the same time! The K2 WWW seems like it might be nice for all of that, but at that price, how performance and durable can it really be? The Dominant is a cheap board with low tech, not a lot of pop or stiffness, but it is forgiving and fun. Durability has been an issue of late for Burton, so that has to be considered. My suggestion for this category, and yes it's a biased one, would be the Evil Twin by Bataleon. It's a true twin shape. It has a poplar and beech full length core. It's got kevlar and carbon for pop and durability. It's softer between the bindings for flex over rails, and poppier on the nose and tail for extra spring off the snow and a more stabler platform for pressing and buttering. It's wider in the waist for more stability on rails and landings, and has a smooth, not too extreme sidecut so you can turn and carve and ride pipe, but not catch your edge all the time. And of course, like every Bataleon snowboard, it has Triple Base Technology, which makes it quicker from edge to edge, less likely to catch it's edges on landings or take offs, easier to release the edges off the lip, and faster on a flat base than any other board. On top of all that, you can approach a jump or rail flat based with no edge grabbing and build speed on a short, quick approach!! You really need to try one! Come to a demo this winter and try a board out, or visit your local shop and ask them if they have one you can try! For more information or questions, get a hold of me! brandon@bataleon.com
