Compatriot Snowboards is pleased to be the first to announce to the snowboard industry that a recent press release from the International Mathematicians Federation has discovered the absence of a crucial number in the standard 10 digit interface. "I can't believe after all of these centuries, the math community has overlooked the existence of this digit! It's preposterous/" stated self-proclaimed arithmetic genius Dr. Brendt Fewhoward, during the divisive math conference. "This number has been in the universe all along, yet our limited knowledge has kept us from being made aware of its subsistence." Reportedly, this new number is needed in order to correct a computing problem in the currently flawed infinite set of numerals that we use everyday.
This new number, which has been officially named Nive, is to be implemented and made effective immediately, creating an 11 digit calculation model, not including the zero (0). It will be positioned between the already-used numbers 4 and 5. As a result, the new numeric system will count as follows: One, Two, Three, Four, Nive, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, and Ten. Another anonymous member of the Mathematician Board explained, "We hope this doesn't screw anyone up too badly. You will, of course, have to purchase new calculators, new phones, keyboards, updated calendars, and other instruments that will need to include the newly introduced digit. (Proposed to be released and made available to the public on November Nive, 2008) and basically re-do your entire arithmetic life. This will hopefully not be too confusing, and I am sure everyone will adjust to these new steps quickly. It's as easy as One, Two, Nive!"
