Dear Diary

Beside my keyboard is a lift ticket, it was a 2 Days lift ticket for Mammoth Mountain. Friday the 12th of November and Saturday the 13th of November it reads. Ah yes, I remember those two days quite lucidly like it was just yesterday. But it feels like it has been an eternity.

Despite some politically motivated vandalism on my shred sled courtesy of a few Pro Kerry University of California drunks, it was still without a doubt one of the most epic pre-season shred adventure I've ever been a part of, bar none. And in less than one months time I will be making a return trip up the  395 higwhway to partake in another pre-season warm up, straight MVP style. Although I am sure the proportions will be less than epic this season, it will definately beat any given day during these hot summer months.

I will be sleepless the days prior to the trip. I'll stress out during the long and boring drive. I'll get about 3 hours of sleep before waking up anxious at the crack of dawn. I'll pretend to be calm and collected when gearing up the new kit that has been sitting, begging to be used and abused. I'll be furious when the only parking spot is over a mile away. I'll think of endless possibilities on the chairlift. I'll thank the good Lord at the top before starting my first run. I'll have the biggest smile painted on my face as I descend down the mountain. And after the months spent holding my breath, i'll finally be able to inhale, breathe, and start living again.

out the window

We are getting some snow this weekend and hopefully a lot more next week so lets HOPE this season is just as epic as last! Everyone in town is holding their breaths anxiously waiting for the snow to hit the ground paralyzed with anticipation. It will only be a matter of time before we're out there shredding!

amen to that!!

amen to that!! maybe i'll see you up there... :)
