Dear snowboard industry,
Look, I know you're trying to be cutting edge. I'm even okay om some levels with the incorperation of fashion, because wearing lame two color ski jackets gets old. I think you have the wrong idea about me though.
I'll say this upfront because communication is important in a relationship: I bought that plaid analog puffy from you a few years ago. That's where it ends though. Hell, I only did it once and I didn't pay close to retail for it and now you're trying to push me in all these directions i'm not comfortable with. Wool outwear? Snakeskin print? Numerous plaids? Why so many pinstripes? Why the signature outwear?
The direction our relationship is headed makes me uncomfortable. Like I said, I know some of the evoloution in fashion is par for the course but this is out of hand. I trusted you. You've violated my trust, and I don't know how much longer this can go on. I'm embarassed to be seen in public with you half the time. I understand that we're different people and we're not going to see eye to eye on everything, but I don't know that I can stand the person you've become.
When we started dating you were all about working to your fullest potential, and looking nice if it didn't get in the way. Would you be able to say the same about yourself today?
Please think this over long and hard. I don't want to have to end our relationhip, but I can't stand this much longer.
Love,
Ian
yes it's sad
the MAN will try anything to make a buck, and in this case, it's working. too many boarders out their that care more about looking cool than actually shreddin. the snowboard outerwear market is huge and will probably get way bigger. i'm sorry that its come to this. even i've been tempted by some of the new stuff though, so i'm no one to talk
dolla dolla bills ya'll
If you think about it, it's a genius move on some of the leading brands out there. All those kids that bought their head-to-toe plamo-wicked-houndstooth print in boisonberry are already sick of it, or they will be by the time the new stuff rolls out. Therefore, they will go out and buy the new hot shit to look 'cool' all over again. The 'big guys' know that if the consumer had the dough to drop on that in the first place, they will do it again, and again, and again. Increasing their bottom line and making the hill look like a Gap store on drugs.

SO WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE GENERAL LUNCHBOX?what do you want to have them sell?
too bad
That a clothing company such as Patagonia isn't core or "cool" enough to get the kids to buy their stuff. You look at their gear and it's warrantied for life, made from all organic materials, and they do loads for the environment. Maybe Planet Earth should think about something like that.
.
Patagonia is a great company, I just find their outwear a bit tight for my liking. Plus it puts skiboarding outwear to shame in the price department.
.
Yeah, I agree with that about the fit, it's just a shame that more snowboard clothing companies can't follow the same approach. Pricewise, they aren't that much different from any 20,000 mm / GoreTex snowboard outerwear.
Thats why I wear solid colors
Thats why I wear solid colors.
Yup
