Heatwave

What's going on with this rediculous heat wave on the westcoast?

Two more weeks of this and Mammoth is going to have to start closing parts of the mountain and it's only February. I'm really hoping for another huge storm before spring, but until then, I'll be in the park trying not to break myself on the cement ice.

Heatwave go away

You should be happy that at least Mammoth has had its share of storms. SoCal hasn't had any. We are in serious, serious, did I mention - SERIOUS need some storms. One foot base (and man-made at that) sucks. Plus, with this heat, by 11am it's all slushy. Oh well, I still make the best of what little we have.

tahoe sucks too

went to northstar last week and it was raining at the base. we were all sweating bad, too. sacramento is in the low 70's right now, and im going back up to tahoe tomorrow. hopefully the snow will be at least ok.

you west coast kids are so jaded. i live in central new york, not known for getting the most snow in the world, but weve gotten maybe a third of what we usually do, and its been raining for the most part since new years. one foot base? twice what my local hill has. no storms in mammoth dumping multiple feet of snow? our biggest storm (flurry) has dumped (sprinkled) a whopping 4 inches. cement ice for a week or two? thats what our whole season has been for the most part. yeah, it sucks that youre season isnt what it normally is, but atleast youre not on the ice coast.

for last year. Mt. Baker is epic right now.
