MFM and Reda strike a pose.

The Boyz in the Hood have returned from Portland and Mt. Hood, Oregon. MFM along with Jeron Wilson, Daewon Song, Mike Taylor, Torey Pudwill and Lamar Hemmings skated three demos throughout the weekend. The first stop was the Department of Skateboarding in Portland, and then it was off to Mt. Hood. We were almost rained out up in Hood, but the weather cleared and with a little help from Kevin English and his staff at High Cascade, Daewon and MFM were able to session the bowls.

DVS knows how to travel right.

Words and Lifestyle shots by Tawnya Schultz. Action by Ian Mcleod.

The big red bus made a stop in the Hood this week with members of the DVS skate team and special guest Mark Frank Montoya. The boys sessioned the variety of concrete and wood Windells has to offer and needless to say they were graciously stoked. Daewon Song, Jeron Wilson, Mikey Taylor, and Torey Pudwill were among the pros that made their way on the long trek from So Cal to film and kick it for the three day mission.

Matix Against Man-G's

Almost every skateboarder has a friend who suffers from the Man-G. As everyday skaters lose faith in the average leather or nylon belt, shoelaces have been steadily replacing belts in the skateboard community. Unfortunately, shoelace belts have created another epidemic in our society – the Man-G.

Thought only to affect male aerobics instructors and male strippers, the Man-G epidemic has also stricken the skateboard community. With daily visual accounts at skate parks and skate spots worldwide, the Man-G has been taking over the skateboard community at a rapid rate. We, too, have friends who suffer a great deal from this Man-G epidemic, including our own Matix team manager, Tony E, who suffers from it entirely too much.

DVS' Jussi Oksanen and Jamie Anderson Win at the ASJ

The third annual Burton Abominable Snow Jam took place July 8-10, 2006
in Mt. Hood, Oregon and DVS team riders Jussi Oksanen and Jamie Anderson
took home the wins in Slopestyle. Jamie also took home a Harley-Davidson
for the Most Inspired Award.

Jussi battled Andreas Wiig throughout the day with various back to back
900's and 1080's. In the end, Jussi would prevail with the win and the
10,000 dollars.

Jussi's final run highlights consisted of backside to fakie on the
church rail, switch 180 to tail press 180 out, switch backside 9,
frontside 1080, frontside 7, Haakon flip on the pipe wall and a hand
plant on the quarterpipe.

Jamie Anderson rode in Saturday's pipe event and placed a surprising 3rd
place, this being her first pipe event. On Sunday, she set for
Slopestyle where she battled it out with Chanelle Sladics and Natasha
Zurek. After a nail biting finish, Jamie's flawless style would come out
in the end, taking home the 5,000 bucks and Harley for best overall
performance.

Some of Jamie's final run consisted of a cab 270 onto the rainbow a huge
frontside 360, switch straight air and a mctwist in the pipe.

DVS would like to congratulate them both on there victories!
