Quiksilver Unveils Flagship Snwoboard Park In Beijing

Beijing, CHINA (November 20, 2008) - Quiksilver, the world’s leading boardsports fashion apparel brand and long-time supporter and promoter of snowboarding in China, today announced it will sponsor the world-famous Nanshan Park in Beijing, China. Teaming up with the country’s top park construction firm Mellow Constructions China, Quiksilver proudly unveils China’s finest freestyle playground, the Quiksilver Nanshan Mellow Park, scheduled to open December 2008.

Over the past few years, snowboarding has grown from a relatively unheard of sport in China into a winter sensation. This would not have been possible without Quiksilver’s ongoing support at all levels, from sponsoring the Quiksilver Snow Team and popular events such as the Quiksilver Nightrail Session, to now providing China’s finest snowboard park.

Company to Focus on Core Apparel and Footwear Brands Quiksilver, Roxy and DC

Huntington Beach, California, November 13, 2008 -- Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE:ZQK) today announced that it had closed the sale of the “Rossignol Group” to Chartreuse & Mont Blanc. The transaction resulted from Quiksilver’s initiative, announced in January 2008, to sell Rossignol in order to reduce its exposure to the winter sports equipment manufacturing business. The sale, which was effective as of November 12, 2008, carried a transaction value of €40 million, comprised of €30 million in cash and a €10 million Seller’s Note. Net proceeds will be used to reduce indebtedness.

McKnight, Jr., Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive and President of Quiksilver, Inc., commented, “The completion of this sale represents the culmination of our efforts to eliminate our exposure to hardgoods manufacturing. We’re delighted that we can now return to our roots, do what we do best and once again fully concentrate our efforts on our core apparel and footwear brands Quiksilver, Roxy and DC.”

Kevin Griffin Lights It Up at Quiksilver Showdown Over The City

North Vancouver, Canada – April 2nd, 2008: Grouse Mountain welcomed big crowds and the best professional and amateur Canadian riders this past weekend for the Swatch TTR 3-Star Quiksilver Showdown Over the City. Up for the taking were prizes totaling $20 000 CDN along with 550 TTR ranking points. Canadian shredder Kevin Griffin claimed the Men’s Title, with fellow rippers Matt Belzile and Charles Reid taking second and third respectively. Terri Dreger also grabbed hold of women’s first place followed by Robin Van Gyn in second, and Stephanie Just in third.

Beijing, CHINA – Hundreds of people from all over the world gathered in the Nokia Nanshan Melow Park under floodlights that could be seen for miles. China’s top riders were showing the crowd what this great country has produced; rail ninjas true and true.

DJ Wordy took to the decks at 8pm with his original hip-hop-to-heavy-metal-mash-up sound while spectators from near and far headed up to the park. The riders jibbed, destroyed and got their grind on in this rail only event during the one-hour jam session and showed us all what Chinese snowboarding is about. The park was in perfect condition, including the ispo rainbow box made entirely from snow not to mention free beers were flowing courtesy of Quiksilver and ispo china.

Jackson Hole, WY (February 6, 2008 - Quiksilver today announced that Travis Rice is the winner of the first-annual "Quiksilver Natural Selection: All Mountain Invitational." The final round of competition, staged at Jackson Hole's legendary Casper Bowl run, was held in sunny bluebird skies and pristine pow. Hundreds of spectators cheered each rider as they dropped from the top of the mountain into a field of soft, untracked snow and launched impossible airs over boulders and trees.

Travis Rice was the highest finisher of the day. His best run scored 431 points. Mark Landvik in second and Mark Carter in third.

Quiksilver Showdown Over the City Proves Gravity is Just a Rumour

Dave Fortin blows crowds away at Grouse Mountain’s Pro Am Contest

April 9th 2007, North Vancouver BC – Bluebird skies, unspoiled spring conditions and epic riding are what spectators at Grouse Mountain’s Quiksilver Showdown Over the City were treated to on March 30th and 31st.
The resort’s first annual pro-am invitational kicked off with the am qualifier on Friday where nine amateur hopefuls were brought forward to compete against some of the industry’s top pros in the Friday Night Jib Session and Saturday Park Session.

During Friday’s Jib Session, riders hit the down-flat-down rail, step-up flat-down rail, and the 20’ box to down 40’ box and despite the evening snowfall, the bright lights of Vancouver shone through. Jeff Pepperdine and Molly Milligan took home the best overall riders while Andrew Geeves was selected as the Rider’s Choice. As the day wound down, everyone headed into Altitudes Bistro for a little après.

March 15th, 2007, North Vancouver BC – The Quiksilver Showdown Over the City at Grouse Mountain , is coming up on March 30 and 31st. And with a roster of elite local and international pro and amateur riders already confirmed, the contest, now just two weeks away, is shaping up to be the largest to hit the city of Vancouver .

The recent launch of the official contest website www.showdownoverthecity.ca has driven AM entries for the Friday qualifier round, pushing local riders to get their entries in well in advance of the event.
