Innsbruck/Austria – December 1st, 2008: The Swatch TTR World Tour is set to
detonate over the coming weeks with both the 6Star Nissan X-Trail Jam and 6Star Roxy Chicken Jam firing up and getting the season underway in the Northern Hemisphere. The Roxy Chicken Jam is taking place from December 12th to 13th, 2008 in Kaprun, Austria and as always, the world’s top female riders will be hitting the park and pushing women’s snowboarding to new heights. Meanwhile, round the other side of the globe in Japan, some of the TTR’s most progressive male riders will be gathering in Japan for the Nissan X-Trail Jam, an extreme battle of style and amplitude in the Colosseum that is the Tokyo Dome.

Utah

So I'm headed out to Utah in a week to shred with some friends and get some footage. Park City is where we're staying and we're thinking of going to Snowbird and the Canyons as well as Park City. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where else we should go along with places to avoid. (I know DV and Alta are off limits to us boarder types).

Thx!

The 'Ville

WV 11.28.08

Every holiday season I try to make it back to my old stumping grounds of the “righteous coast” – back in the day my brother and I ran an online shred news site based on our roots – today we both work at Oakley, but are always stoked to visit old friends back east. After too much turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pie my brother and I knew we had to get out of the house.

So, today we drove one hour north of our parent’s house to shred Waterville Valley, or known to many as the “Ville”… this is a special place for many… Danny Garrity, Greg Maxwell, Chas Guldemond and most notably Pat Moore grew up shredding this mountain and attending Bill Enos’ WVV Snowboard Academy.

The New Goods at June Mountain

June Mtn. scheduled to open December 11

While in Mammoth this weekend I got word of some interesting new jibs for this year at June Mtn. I was able to get a hold of Jeremy Cooper the park manager over there and I had asked him if he could give me the skinny on the new goods. We made it up to the top and first thing that grabbed my attention was this satellite dish that had been converted into a jib. There are a few other new goods that I am sure you will see in the vids next season. Jeremy and crew are getting pretty creative and I am looking forward to see what kind of magic the shredders are able to do with these features. Definitely make time to check out June Mtn. this season.

Weekend at Mammoth

Mammoth is open! I went up this weekend to get my legs warmed up for the season. There are plenty of jibs set up in the Main Lodge park and plenty of open trails to cruise on. I met up with Mammoth's Bryan Stephan and we were able to get some solid early season riding in. I took a couple runs in the park but my old legs just were not ready to even attempt to jump. So I proceeded to do some speed laps from top to bottom until I wore myself out. If you are looking for some good early season riding right now, Mammoth is a good choice. Keep an eye out for some snow this week.
