Board Choice Suggestions

Hi,

I am looking to buy a new snowboard and was looking at the selection that Lib Tech has to offer. They have some boards with real nice graphics and acclaimed features, but their site doesn't do a great job of describing what each board is best used for (freestyle, freeride, all-mtn, etc.) I was wondering if anyone could make some recommendations for me. I am mostly a freeride boarder, I would describe myself as intermediate to advanced. I deal with mostly groomed, often icy trails, but I am also looking for a board that is versatile and can perform well in powder, park, and everywhere else.

SB or TRice for 09?

Hi Im 5'11 155 lbs and im looking to get a lib board for next season. I mostly ride groomers with the occasional day when we get powder. I ride way more freeride than in the park but next season I'm going to be doing both about equal.

So I'm pretty much looking for an all around board and im looking it at either the 156 SB or the 157 TRice, but I also heard the new TRS is a good board.
Which board do you guys recommend? I've heard good things about all of them, but there seems to be way more hype on the SB... Heard its great in park and pow, but I have heard mixed opinions about how it handles at speed on groomers.

TRS btx 157 '09

hi dudes, I'm a lucky rider of this board and here is my review (in french): http://zejax.over-blog.com/article-17763010.html if ever you want an english review just ask to me i will try to Eye-wink

Cygnus Bliss

I just had a chance to ride Lib's $1200 board and wow.......
Hands down the best snowboard I've ever been on.
If your not familuar with the Cygnus X1, it might seem expensive. Mike Olson(Lib, GNU, & Bent Metal founder) handcrafts, signs, and numbers every single one.
1st board to have a seamless sidewall
1st board to have a self healing sidewall(works like a Rubermade Treshcan)
1st board with a double core construction
1st board to use a Poly Castor Bean Top Skin(PCB's can be grown in your backyard, other top sheets come from oil)(also has the highest strength per weight ratio)

Lib Tech Presents The Holy Oly Revival

08 Holy Oly

The Holy Oly Revival turns 5…everyone is going bananas!

The Summit at Snoqualmie, Lib Technologies and Snowboy Productions are quite pleased to once again bring you The Holy Oly Revival on February 23 at Summit East.

Beneath the shadow of a 40’ beer can that started it all resides all the fixings…one giant hand-shaped quarterpipe next to a sweet jib line that’s next to a Cobra Dog stand that’s next to a crowd of snowboarding pros, groms, legends, up-and-comers, creepy lurkers, skunkape riders and the occasional skier. Powder lines will be ripped, Thin Lizzy and Dio will be blasted to the heavens, Red Bulls will be gulped and the judging will remain suspect as always at this fine anti-contest that is, and always will be, simply “a celebration of NW snowboard pride.”

is the bannana slower?

i'm a big boy 6'6" 300lbs so i like going fast more than anything so i was wondering if the new bannana shape has any affect on overall speed
i'm asking cause i'm looking into the skunk ape 172 and there is a good chance it will be available with bannana next year. i'm riding a '01 gnu form 170 and i really want magne-traction but not sure about the whole bannana thing

best board for freeride?

im 6 feet tall and weigh about 140. im looking for a good freeride board that can hit some jumps. i usually ride 90% freeride with maybe one or two runs through the park a day. so what board do you think is the best for me?
