Signal Snowboards is clearing out the warehouse to give way for next year’s gear. To help them achieve this daunting goal, Signal is basicly giving away any snowboard left in stock for only $200. That’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask us. Since most boards, on the low end of the spectrum, start at roughly $300.

Over the past few weeks, we teamed up with Red Bull, Copper Mountain, Woodward at Copper and Sol Republic to give one lucky entrant a VIP trip to the 2014 Red Bull Slope Soakers at Copper Mountain along with a gig consulting for the 2015 Slope Soakers event.
Over 35 entries came in from across the US, all of which were worthy of winning. But in the end, only one could claim the coveted title. That entrant would be Will Hart from Austin, Texas.
Now, Will might not have had the best looking entry (there was no 3D animation in this one, just good ol’ fashion pencil on paper), but “The Skim Box” definitely entrained the judges, all of which included Will’s entry in their top three designs when the voting was over.
Here’s Will’s entry, “The Skim Box”:
1 = “The Skim Box” (Pond skim to up-box) 2 = Flat rail > down rail 3 = C-Box Unique. Feasible. The idea is that skiers and riders will be able to send it pretty far off the box. I haven’t seen a pond skim to an up-box before, so I think this would be the first ever. It will work. Trust me.
Congrats Will! See you in Copper…

Shaun White retires from snowboarding?
It looks to be an end of an era for Shaun White as, according to his Facebook account, he is “changing careers” from snowboarding to music. There hasn’t been any real gossip or news about this except for the image he, or his PR team, posted up on his Facebook account… which doesn’t exactly say he’s retiring.
So until an official press release from Camp White, we can only speculate as to what this means. But it’s big news nonetheless. I don’t see him fully removing himself from snowboarding or skateboarding, but taking the “mainstream pro athlete” approach and heading over to the broadcasters desk. If he’s anything like Charles Barkley on camera, he’s got a solid career ahead of him. That dude is mad entertaining!
A few things crossed my mind when I first heard the news:
1. He’s still pretty damn dominant, so that seems like an interesting decision, but he could just be worn out.
2. According to his post Olympic interview with NBC and Matt Lauer, there is a chance he will be back, at the ripe age of 31, to compete in the next Winter Olympics.
3. Did someone hack his Facebook account?
4. Who are all the haters going to hate on now? Could this be the end of the online hate era as well? I mean, you can only hide behind some ridiculous screen name screaming about things you don’t understand for so long…
All jokes aside, if this is true, and I’m not saying it is, we congratulate him on a career that will never be forgotten and will most likely hold records for some time to come. His domination from a grom to present day has been unbelievable to watch, and we wish, for the sake of that huge first hit backside air, that he isn’t retiring.
What do you think about Shaun White’s retirement, if, in fact, it is true? Sound off below!

Thank you Adam for not doing your taxes and putting this together. It’s so damn inspiring to watch. Really makes you want to get off your ass or out from your computer and do fun stuff.
Here’s what Mr. Moran had to say via facebook:
Now that all the ads, catalogs, and magazines are printed for the year i can put out a quick slideshow of some of my favorites from last winter. Winter for me starts in August and ends in May and the shots are in that order. Take a few minutes to watch if you like. Thanks to Burton Snowboards and all the riders that I shoot with that make all these images possible. I was going to do expenses and taxes while at home but putting this together seemed like a better use of my time.
What did you think of Adam Moran’s 2012/13 winter photo slideshow?
